MGIMO branch to open in Tashkent

On December 9, Tashkent will host the opening of the MGIMO branch - the first foreign branch of the university.

It should be recalled that the agreement on the establishment of a branch was signed in October 2018 in the presence of the presidents of Uzbekistan and Russia.

Starting from September of this year, MGIMO has begun training students in Uzbekistan in the areas of Business Informatics and Jurisprudence at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED).

“In a record short time, thanks to the support of the leadership of Uzbekistan, the branch building was erected combining classical architecture and modern infrastructure,” MGIMO said.

The ceremony will be attended by the UWED rector, advisor to the President of Uzbekistan Abdujabbor Abduvakhitov, MGIMO rector, academician Anatoly Torkunov, university professors and representatives of foreign affairs agencies of both sides.
