Uzbekistan, Vatican eye to bring interstate relations to a qualitatively new level
On December 11, 2019, Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov, arriving today in Rome, met with Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States within the Holy See’s Secretariat of State.
The parties discussed a wide range of issues regarding cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Vatican City.
The sides noted with satisfaction the dynamic nature of bilateral relations that began in October 1992. As emphasized, interethnic harmony and religious tolerance prevailing in Uzbekistan, the jointly accumulated experience of interaction is a key starting point for bringing interstate relations to a qualitatively new level.
It was noted that the dialogue between the heads of state and regular contacts at other levels will help to determine and focus on promising areas for further development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Vatican.
