Citizens of Uzbekistan can work in 85 countries after obtaining a qualification certificate of WorldSkills International
On December 16, at the “Ishga marhamat” monocenter for providing services to the unemployed, the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations organized an open championship Uzbekistan Skills. The opening ceremony was attended by Finance Minister Jamshid Kuchkarov, President of the WorldSkills International (WSI) Association Jos de Goey. Deputy Labor Minister Erkin Mukhitdinov spoke about the importance of the competition and membership in the Association.
“On August 28, 2019, the National Association for Development and Promotion of Vocational Skills – WorldSkills Uzbekistan was created. The first championship is being held under the auspices of the Association. Teams from Russia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan competed in 10 professional areas. This competition is an important step towards membership in the WSI Association. Performances of participants are evaluated in accordance with the requirements of WorldSkills.
What does the membership in the Association give us? Those, who successfully pass the World Skills exam, will receive a qualification certificate that allows them to apply for jobs in 85 countries of the world that are currently members of WorldSkills. Uzbekistan, one of the first among the countries of Central Asia, is taking measures to join the Association,” Kun.uz correspondent quoted Erkin Mukhitdinov as saying.
Mukhitdinov noted that on August 24 this year, during the meeting of the Uzbek delegation with the President of WorldSkills International, the ministry applied for membership. To help Uzbekistan join the movement, the WorldSkills Russia was involved. It is planned to launch Qualification Assessment Centers and an independent Qualification System that meet international standards of WorldSkills.
