Sherzod Shermatov names the biggest problem in public education sphere
At the Media Hall of the National Association of Electronic Mass Media of Uzbekistan, a meeting of the debate club “New Uzbekistan – new elections” took place.
The event titled “Sustainable development for the benefit of future generations: economic priorities” focused on the issues of comprehensive socio-economic development of the regions, encouraging infrastructure, small business and family entrepreneurship, reducing the state’s share in the economy, improving the efficiency of state-owned enterprises.
According to the Minister of Public Education Sherzod Shermatov, Uzbekistan should now focus on the export of services, not heavy goods.
“We should focus on export of services, not heavy goods. Children should be interested in IT, English. Then there will be no need for citizens to move to another country. They will be able to export services abroad, while staying in Uzbekistan. One will not have any difficulty to find work after the school tomorrow.
The biggest problem in the education sphere is the lack of qualified personnel. It is hard to find a good school principal. This was also due to the fact that the income level of education professionals is lagging behind other sectors,” Sherzod Shermatov said.
