Korea to help Uzbekistan create a center for development of digital economy
In the city of Sejong (Republic of Korea), an agreement was signed between the National Agency for Project Management (NAPM) under the President of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Public Administration and Security of the Republic of Korea on the establishment of a joint Center for Cooperation on e-government and the digital economy.
According to the signed document, the Korean side will allocate $2 million (without the obligation of returning) for the development of the sphere of electronic government in Uzbekistan.
South Korea will send three highly qualified employees in the field of e-government and the digital economy to work in the center for three years on an ongoing basis.
The official opening ceremony of the Center in Tashkent is scheduled for late January 2020.
The new center will provide expert support in the development of e-government and the digital economy based on the Korean experience.
