Uzbekistan and JICA sign a long-term cooperation agreement worth over $3.5 billion
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who is on an official visit in Japan, received the President of JICA Shinichi Kitaoka at Akasaka residence in Tokyo.
During the meeting, Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed gratitude to the head of JICA for the long-standing cooperation, aimed at supporting reforms and promoting priority programs in Uzbekistan.

Currently, the portfolio of joint projects amounts to over $4 billion. A new long-term Cooperation Program worth more than $3.5 billion was agreed at the meeting, including projects in energy, modernization of industry and agriculture, infrastructure, environment, healthcare and other sectors.
Particular attention was paid to supporting small and medium-sized business projects, as well as expanding educational exchanges.
An agreement was reached on development of a roadmap to ensure timely and qualitative implementation of each cooperation project between Uzbekistan and JICA.
