Today, December 20, a press conference was held at the National Association of Electronic Mass Media, Kun.uz correspondent reports.
During the event, the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of Oliy Majlis Sodiq Safoyev expressed his opinion about party oppositions.
“In Uzbekistan, an oppositional political view is emerging. First of all, the problems that are raised in the mass media are pluralism for our society. These are the first steps of the opposition,” he said.
Sodiq Safoyev also said that 29 debates were organized among political parties.
“Currently, one party criticizes not only the program of another party, but also the government. This is also the origin of the opposition. And finally, the political opposition cannot be artificially created. Who do you expect the opposition from? The government will not create for itself its own opposition,” he said.
In his opinion, opposition should emerge naturally.
“It depends on political thinking and the situation, as well as laws. Our task is to create the appropriate conditions for the emergence of the opposition,” he concluded.
