Government exempts 2,000 types of goods from customs payments
The Government of Uzbekistan has approved a list of technological and laboratory equipment, components and spare parts for them, not produced in the country, which are exempted from customs payments, Norma writes.
This benefit is provided for by the presidential decree “On further measures to accelerate the development of the pharmaceutical industry in the republic in 2019-2021”.
The approved list of goods is exempted from paying customs duties until January 1, 2022 (excluding customs clearance fees).
The State Tax Committee, together with the State Customs Committee, has been instructed to establish strict control over the targeted and efficient use of imported technological and laboratory equipment, components and spare parts for them, as well as raw materials used for the production of medicines, medical devices and packaging materials, in according to the approved List.
In case of misuse of imported technological and laboratory equipment, components and spare parts for them, as well as raw materials used for the production of medicines, medical devices and packaging materials, the released funds are fully recovered in the State budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the use of penalties envisaged by law.
