Uzbekistan approves new standard regarding tourism industry
By the decision of Uzstandard, the Agency for Standardization, Metrology and Certification, the state standard on “Tourism services – Travel agencies and tour operators – Terminology” has been approved.
The document was developed by the State Unitary Enterprise “Center for certification of tourist services” under the State Committee for Tourism Development.
It contains definitions of a number of terms that are widely used in the tourism business and is intended to promote mutual understanding between users and providers of tourism services.
Awareness of the choice of travel services increases the likelihood of meeting the expectations of travelers. In turn, the tourism business also benefits from having well-informed consumers.
The document may also be useful for developers of other standards for tourism and travel, and for lawmakers.
The reference application is a glossary of terms in Uzbek, English and Russian.
The standard will come into force on April 1, 2020.
