State Tourism Committee announces the number of tourists who visited Uzbekistan in 2019
The State Committee for Tourism Development said that in 2019, 6,748,500 tourists visited Uzbekistan (in 2018 – 5,346,200 people).
Of these, 51.3% were people aged 31-55 years, 20.2% – aged 55 years and older, 19.5% – aged 19-30 years (20.4% in 2018), and 9, 1% – persons aged 0-18 years (8.1% in 2018).
The largest number of tourists came from Central Asia – 5,764,500 people. 495,600 tourists came from the CIS countries. The number of visitors from non-CIS countries amounted to 488,400 people.
81.8% arrived in Uzbekistan to visit their relatives and friends, 15.5% – for leisure purposes. The proportion of those who came for other reasons, including treatment, shopping, participation in business meetings and for study purposes, amounted to 2.7%.
The volume of exports of tourism services amounted to $1.3 billion.
In 2018, 6,400,000 foreigners arrived in Uzbekistan. 7.1% of these visited the country for tourism purposes.
