On January 20, the Senate of Oliy Majlis considered issues related to organizing the activities of the upper house, Kun.uz correspondent reports.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in accordance with Article 93 of the Constitution, presented candidates for chairperson and deputy chairperson of the Senate of Oliy Majis.
Members of the upper house, by secret ballot, elected Tanzila Narbayeva as Chairperson of the Senate.
Sodiq Safoyev has been elected as the First Deputy Chairperson of the Senate of Oliy Majlis.
In accordance with Article 86 of the Constitution, one of the deputy chairperson of the Senate should be representative from the Republic of Karakalpakstan. According to this norm, Musa Yerniyazov was elected, by secret ballot, Deputy Chairperson.
Zayniddin Nizamkhodjayev was also elected Deputy Chairperson of the Senate by secret ballot.
