Shavkat Mirziyoyev appoints Rakhmat Mamatov as senator

In accordance with a presidential decree, the chairman of the republican board of the “Mahalla” Public Charity Fund Rakhmat Mamatov has been approved as a member of the Senate of Oliy Majlis.

Earlier, it was reported that on January 21, the former head of the Fergana regional police department Rakhmat Mamatov was elected the first deputy chairman of the republican council for coordinating the activities of self-government bodies of citizens - the chairman of the “Mahalla” fund.

Article 75 of the Electoral Code states that 16 members of the Senate are appointed by the president from among the most respected citizens with great practical experience and special merits in the field of science, art, literature, production and other areas of state and public activity.

It should be recalled that on January 18, Shavkat Mirziyoyev appointed 13 senators.
