International Fencing Academy to open in Tashkent
With the support of the International Fencing Federation, a fencing academy will start operating in Tashkent, the NOC press service reported.
This issue was discussed at a meeting of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) head Rustam Shaabdurakhmanov with members of the International Fencing Federation (IFF) Executive Committee Aze Erika, Novak Perovich and Vitaly Logvin, in Tashkent.
“We need to develop the sports sector with neighboring countries. In this regard, we have created the Central Asian Fencing Confederation. Currently, Iran and Mongolia want to join our organization. I believe that the academy, created with your support in Uzbekistan, will contribute to the popularization of fencing,” Shaabdurakhmanov said.

In turn, IFF representatives examined the place where the academy will be built and shared their views.
As the NOC noted, the international academy will train highly qualified coaches and referees.
