Parliamentary Working Group begins to study Uzbekistan’s cooperation issue with the EAEU

On March 26, at a meeting of the Legislative Chamber Council, the issue of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Eurasian Economic Union was considered.

Akmal Saidov, First Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis, answered several questions regarding the cooperation issue.

“Issues related to Uzbekistan’s cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Union are being studied. First of all, this issue should be discussed in detail in the parliamentary chambers considering the interests of our people.

It should be noted that before becoming a full member or observer of the EAEU, it is advisable for each country and its citizens, first of all, to make an in-depth analysis of organizational and legal relations related to the EAEU, regulatory bodies and their activities, the legal basis of cooperation, as well as what the mutual agreements and treaties will do for the country or what the negative consequences will be.

Therefore, at the meeting of the Council, it was decided to further study the issue of cooperation between our country and the Eurasian Economic Union,” Akmal Saidov said.

It was noted that the Council of the Lower House of parliament has established a Working Group to study the issues of cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the EAEU, which includes leaders of all political parties, committee chairmen and deputies, who have in-depth knowledge in the field.

Akmal Saidov, who has been confirmed as the head of the Working Group, noted its main tasks:

- to make an in-depth analysis of the impact of cooperation with the EAEU on the national economy;

- to study the compatibility of cooperation with the EAEU in the priorities of national economic development in the short, medium and long term;

- detailed coverage of the positive and negative effects of cooperation on each sector of the economy;

- comprehensive consideration of the impact of cooperation with the EAEU on Uzbekistan’s collaboration with other international organizations and foreign countries.
