Criminal case opened against a deputy who spread rumors about coronavirus in Kokand
The press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office reported that a criminal case has been opened in Kokand, Fergana region, against a deputy, who disseminated fallacious information.
“On March 28, 2020, citizen Kh. N. (born in 1979, head of a private enterprise, deputy of the Kokand city council of people’s deputies), a resident of A. T. Khukandi mahalla in Kokand, committed a gross violation of the quarantine rules of the Special Republican Commission, that is, he made a live audio recording through the Telegram channel and disseminated false information that two people were diagnosed with coronavirus and quarantined in Kokand.
On the abovementioned fact, on March 31, 2020, the Kokand city prosecutor’s office instituted criminal proceedings against Kh. N. under Article 244-5 (dissemination of untrue information about the quarantine and spread of other infectious diseases dangerous to humans) of the Criminal Code,” Khayot Shamsutdinov, head of the public relations and legal information department of the Prosecutor General’s Office, said in his Telegram channel.
