SCO countries to adopt a single document to combat COVID-19
The countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) will adopt a single document on measures to combat the COVID-19, the Russian Ministry of Health reported.
Public health experts of the SCO member states held a videoconference meeting, in which representatives of Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Pakistan took part.
The meeting was dedicated to the discussion of the actions that SCO countries are taking to combat the spread of new coronavirus pneumonia COVID-19.
The participants presented an overview of the situation in every SCO member state related to the spread of coronavirus and exchanged data from practical experiences to gain a better understanding of the ways COVID-19 transmits. They considered a number of measures to stop the further spread of infection.
Representatives decided to formulate a single document on measures taken by the SCO countries to fight the spread of COVID-19 in order to gather the most effective practices and positive experience.
The videoconference participants agreed on the necessity of taking the agreed measures to the level of health ministers of the SCO member states.
