“Preparations for the Hajj pilgrimage are officially suspended” – Committee on Religious Affairs
According to an official request from the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia, the organizational activities for the Hajj-2020 season have been suspended until the epidemiological situation stabilizes.
This was officially announced on April 16 by the Committee on Religious Affairs under the Cabinet of Ministers.
“Yesterday, the Committee on Religious Affairs received an official appeal from the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia to postpone preparations for the Hajj-2020 season,” the report said.
It is noted that this is due to the epidemiological situation caused by the coronavirus pandemic in the country and around the world.
“The list of citizens, who were supposed to perform Hajj this season, will be completely preserved and transferred to the next year, if the epidemiological situation does not stabilize before the season begins,” the committee assured.
It should be recalled that at the end of February 2020, the Saudi authorities suspended entry into the kingdom in connection with the coronavirus pandemic.
