Uzbekistan Airways converts passenger aircraft to cargo
Uzbekistan Airways has decided to convert the Boeing-767-300-ER passenger aircraft in temporary storage into a Boeing-767-300-PTC cargo version, the press service of the JSC said.
“In order to meet the rapidly growing demand for cargo flights, as well as due to the suspension of passenger flights, the Board of Uzbekistan Airways JSC decided to convert the temporarily stored Boeing-767-300-ER passenger aircraft into Boeing-767-300-PTC cargo version (passenger-to-cargo),” the report said.
The conversion process includes the removal of passenger seats from economy class lounges and the use of this vacated space for the transportation of goods, which makes it possible to additionally load up to 20 tons of cargo on the upper deck, and increase the total volume of commercial cargo provided to 180 cubic meters.
Uzbekistan Airways Technics carried out the conversion in compliance with all requirements and relevant instructions.
