Presidential decree: All villages and mahallas in Uzbekistan will be connected to high-speed Internet in 2020-2021
In 2020-2021, all healthcare institutions, schools and kindergartens, villages and mahallas in Uzbekistan will be connected to high-speed Internet – a relevant presidential decree has been adopted.
On April 28, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution on measures to widely introduce the digital economy and e-government.
The document sets the task of completely modernizing the country’s digital infrastructure and providing access to modern telecommunications services in all regions.
To this end, in 2020-2021, it is planned to connect all healthcare institutions, schools and kindergartens, as well as villages and mahallas to high-speed Internet and improve the quality of communication services.
Also, according to the decree, the Center for E-Government Project Management and the Center for Digital Economy Research will be established under the Ministry of ICT Development.
