900 people evacuated in Surkhandarya due to mudflow
As a result of torrential rains, mudflow covered the territory of the Altinsay district, Surkhandarya region, the press service of the Ministry of Emergencies reports.
Due to rains, the volume of water in the Altinsay River, flowing through the territory of the district, has increased significantly. 900 people residing in the area were evacuated. No casualties reported.
It is noted that the Pasurkhi mahalla in the Baysun district was flooded.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations emphasized that the situation is under the full control of the regional emergency department. Currently, more than 150 rescuers and 20 pieces of equipment have been sent to the flooded areas.
