Transport Ministry: 9 charter flights will be organized to return Uzbek citizens from 4 countries
This week, citizens of Uzbekistan left stranded in Turkey, Russia, the UAE and Egypt will return to Tashkent on special charter flights (9) of Uzbekistan Airways.
The press service of the Ministry of Transport provided information on charter flights planned for June 1-7:
June 1. Tashkent - Istanbul - Tashkent
June 2. Tashkent - Moscow - Tashkent
June 3. Tashkent - Sharjah - Tashkent
June 3. Tashkent - Moscow - Tashkent
June 4. Tashkent - St. Petersburg - Tashkent
June 5. Tashkent - Moscow - Tashkent
June 6. Cairo - Tashkent - Cairo
June 6. Tashkent - Novosibirsk - Tashkent
June 7. Tashkent - St. Petersburg - Tashkent
It was reported that in accordance with the approved schedule of charter flights, a total of 2,118 people stuck in Russia and Turkey were brought back to Uzbekistan on 8 flights between May 25 and 31.
On May 26, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced that more than 10,000 people will be brought back to Uzbekistan, and that more than 100,000 people are waiting for their turn to return to homeland.
It is noted that roughly every second patient diagnosed with coronavirus in Uzbekistan are those coming from abroad.
