Coronavirus-infected drug dealer avoids detention in Samarkand
On July 10, at around 12:30 a.m., during an operation in Samarkand, Internal Affairs officers detained a 38-year-old narcotic drug dealer, when he was selling 0.59 grams of a drug for 500,000 soums, the Investigation Department reported.
The Investigation Department of the Regional DIA initiated criminal proceedings under Article 273 of the Criminal Code.
Detainee was charged under the relevant articles and was remanded in custody.
“However, during the preliminary investigation it was established that the intruder was infected with Covid-19, and therefore he was immediately quarantined, whereas the previously chosen preventive measure in the form of detention was changed to a pledge of conduct,” the department noted.
