Court hearing held on the “Sultan Tex Group” lawsuit against government members

It was earlier reported that “Sultan Tex Group” filed a complaint with the Kibray district administrative court against Deputy Prime Minister Uktam Barnoyev, Agriculture Minister Jamshid Khodjayev and his First Deputy Minister Shukhrat Teshayev.

On July 16, the Kibray district administrative court chaired by the judge Akhrorbek Eraliyev held a regular hearing on the case, Kun.uz correspondent, who observed the trial, reports.

Representatives of the private enterprise “Sultan Tex Group” and officials of the Agriculture Ministry participated in the trial on behalf of Jamshid Khodjayev and his deputy Shukhrat Teshayev.

The participation of the plaintiff’s representatives was organized by videoconference from the Karshi district.

The trial was postponed due to the absence of representatives of the Republican Working Group to assess the activities and potential of cotton and textile clusters under the Cabinet of Ministers (one of the defendants – Uktam Barnoyev is the head of this working group).

The next court hearing is scheduled for July 23 this year.

It should be recalled that the activity of the cotton-textile cluster of “Sultan Tex Group”, located in the Karshi district, was terminated on the basis of a meeting statement signed by Deputy Prime Minister Uktam Barnoyev on April 8, 2020.

Subsequently, the Karshi district administrative court barred the Karshi district khokim and khokimiyat officials from interfering in the cluster activities that belong to the private enterprise “Sultan Tex Group”. Their attempts to cancel or change the cluster’s contract with farmers for 2020 were banned.

Currently, the Karshi district prosecutor has filed a protest against the court’s decision. The case is being considered by the Kashkadarya regional administrative court.
