On August 13, Abdulaziz Kamilov had a telephone conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
According to the press service of the Foreign Ministry, during the conversation, the current state of bilateral relations and prospects for further strengthening the cooperation in the political, trade-economic, investment and cultural-humanitarian spheres were discussed.
“The ministers discussed the current situation in the world regarding the coronavirus pandemic and noted the importance of continuing close cooperation to reduce the negative impact of it on trade and economic ties,” the statement said.
The schedule, agenda and organizational aspects of preparation for upcoming joint events at various levels were also considered.
In addition, the parties exchanged views on the implementation of the measures envisaged under the chairmanship of Uzbekistan in the CIS. During the telephone conversation, certain aspects of international and regional politics were considered.
