Uzbekistan to introduce 7-day and 14-day quarantine for people arriving from abroad

People, who arrive from abroad (except those who arrive from countries where the epidemiological situation is stable), are quarantined for 14 days. If a citizen voluntarily takes prophylactic drugs, this period will be reduced to 7 days.

This was announced in the statement No. 43 of the Special Republican Commission, published on 12 August.

According to it, taking into account the recommendations of the World Health Organization, as well as the epidemiological situation in the country, Uzbekistan has introduced a procedure for quarantine of persons entering the country from abroad:

• the quarantine period for persons arriving from foreign countries is set at 14 days;

• the procedure for undergoing the quarantine period, either in the quarantine center or in a hotel at the discretion of the person, shall be maintained;

• if a person agrees to take treatment-prophylactic measures (agrees to take medicines recommended by the Ministry of Health), the quarantine period is set at 7 days (if the test result is negative after 7 days of quarantine, the person is discharged from the quarantine center) after carrying out treatment-and-prophylactic measures under the supervision of doctors.
