$437 million to be allocated for modernization of water supply systems in Bukhara

The Cabinet of Ministers has adopted a decision on measures to implement the project “Development and modernization of water supply and sewerage systems in the Bukhara region” with the involvement of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, Norma reports.
Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) approved a 25-year loan to Uzbekistan for this project on July 2, 2019.
The total cost of the project is $437.62 million, of which $385.12 million comes from AIIB loan and $52.5 million – from government contribution (from tax and customs benefits). The implementation of the project will take 4 years – from 2020 to 2023.
The chairman of JSC “Uzsuvta’minot” board is responsible for the timely accumulation of funds from “Buxoro suv ta’minot”, used for repayment of debt and interest payments, in accordance with the terms of the loan agreement with AIIB.
