6 people killed in a horrible accident in Surkhandarya
Criminal proceedings have been initiated under Article 266 of the Criminal Code and an investigation is currently ongoing.
At 4 p.m. on August 17, an accident occurred on the M-41 Termez-Jarkorgon road, which goes through the territory of Gur-Gur mahalla of the Jarkurgan district, Surkhandarya region.
According to the police department, a Cobalt driver, 30, violated the overtaking rules, lost control over the vehicle and crashed into a Spark car.
As a result, the driver of Spark, 27, and his passenger, 30, as well as a 31-year-old passenger of Cobalt and a two-month baby died on the spot.
In addition, another passenger of Spark and a 5-year-old passenger of Cobalt died in hospital due to injuries sustained.
The remaining two passengers of Spark and three passengers of Cobalt with its driver were hospitalized with severe injuries.
Jarkurgan district DIA filed a criminal charge against the causer of the accident under Article 266 of the Criminal Code.
“We urge drivers to observe the traffic rules and not endanger their own lives and lives of other people,” the official report concludes.
