The purpose of the law, developed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, is to regulate relations related to the organization and conduct of rallies, meetings and demonstrations by citizens of the country.
The draft law “On rallies, meetings and demonstrations” was published on the portal for discussing draft normative-legal acts.
The basic principles of organizing and conducting rallies, meetings and demonstrations are:
• the priority of the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of citizens;
• legitimacy;
• voluntariness;
• publicity and openness;
• holding them on a peaceful basis;
• mutual responsibility of the parties.
Also, the draft document has defined the activities prohibited during the organization and conduct of rallies, meetings and demonstrations, the cases in which holding such actions are prohibited, as well as the list of persons who are not allowed to organize them.
