Khokim of Bukhara region Karim Kamalov dies

Acting khokim of the Bukhara region, Karim Kamalov, has died.

It should be recalled that the Ministry of Health announced the illness of the regional khokim of Bukhara at the July 30 press conference. Then it also became known that the khokim was being treated for coronavirus.

“Today, at the age of 66, the state and public figure, acting khokim of the Bukhara region Karim Kamalov has died,” the UzA report reads.

Recently, information appeared on social networks that Karim Kamalov died of coronavirus. However, the khokimiyat of the Bukhara region denied rumors about the khokim’s death.

“These messages have no basis,” the press service of the regional administration said then.

The khokimiyat noted that Kamalov was undergoing treatment in Tashkent and was under the supervision of qualified doctors. The regional administration addressed to users of social networks and bloggers with a request not to disseminate false and unsubstantiated information.

It should be recalled that Karim Kamalov was appointed acting khokim of the Bukhara region on February 29 this year. Prior to his appointment, Kamalov worked as khokim of the city of Bukhara.
