Kamilov, Atmar discuss prospects for development of interstate cooperation between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan
On August 28, Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with counterpart from Afghanistan Hanif Atmar, who arrived in Tashkent on a working visit.
According to the MFA press service, the parties discussed the current state of bilateral relations and prospects for the development of interstate cooperation in the political, trade-economic, energy, transport-communications and other spheres.
Special attention was paid to the progress in the implementation of the agreements reached in the framework of bilateral contacts at the highest level.
Hanif Atmar also expressed deep gratitude to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for Uzbekistan’s strong support and active assistance in achieving peace, social and economic recovery in Afghanistan, the press service noted.
The parties noted with satisfaction the dynamic nature of multifaceted cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
Other issues of the Uzbek-Afghan agenda were also considered during the talks.
