Blogger Dadakhon Khaydarov freed from restraint
Blogger Khaydarjon Bobokhaydarov (Dadakhon Khaydarov), who has been detained since August 22 on suspicion of involvement in the riots in the Sokh district, was released on September 2. His lawyer Khamidakhon Abdunazarova told Kun.uz.
The lawyer said there were insufficient grounds to prosecute his client as a defendant in the criminal case and to detain him as a precautionary measure. For this reason, he was released by the decision of the investigating authority.
It should be recalled that several people were arrested in connection with the May riots in the Sokh district.
It was later revealed that Khaydarjon Bobokhaydarov, a blogger who had demanded the resignation of Shukhrat Ganiyev, the khokim of the Fergana region, was among them.
In an article published on Gazeta.uz on August 29, the blogger’s father said that his son was abducted on August 22 by a helicopter, “his head covered with a sack”.
On August 30, Aziza Eraliyeva, the blogger’s mother, posted a video on social media asking the President to pardon her child.
On August 31, the Prosecutor General’s Office announced the arrest of Khaydarjon Bobokhaydarov. It states that Bobokhaydarov was arrested as a suspect in a criminal case and detained under Article 226 of the Criminal Procedural Code.
