Kamilov, Lavrov to hold talks in Moscow
Foreign Affairs Ministers of Uzbekistan and Russia, Abdulaziz Kamilov and Sergey Lavrov, will hold talks in Moscow on Thursday during the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
“On the margins of the SCO CFM meeting, Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov will hold talks with the FM of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov in Moscow on September 10,” the report of the Russian Foreign Ministry says.
It is planned to consider a wide range of bilateral political, commercial, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation issues, and to reconcile positions before the meetings of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers and the Council of Heads of States.
According to the press service of the Foreign Ministry, the parties will pay special attention to the preparations for the signing of intergovernmental and interdepartmental documents during the upcoming state visit of Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Russia.
It is also planned to discuss the tasks of the parties’ foreign policy departments in the context of the upcoming second meeting of the joint commission of Russia and Uzbekistan at the level of the heads of governments and the twenty-first meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the two countries, as well as issues of mutual support in the fight against the spread of the coronavirus infection.
