Electric vehicle imports rose by 36% year on year to 54,826 units, worth $614 million. Hybrid car imports nearly quintupled to 11,130 units from 2,261 a year earlier, while petrol car imports fell 3.5% to 13,070.
Electric vehicles accounted for 69.4% of all passenger car imports during the period. Hybrids made up 14.1% and petrol cars 16.5%.
The average price of an electric vehicle fell by 9.5% to $11,207, from $11,718 a year earlier. The average price of a hybrid car declined 11.4% to $21,563, while the average price of a petrol car fell 7.2% to $18,891.
Uzbekistan imported 14,519 more electric vehicles than in January-August 2025, while their total value increased by $142.1 million.
Monthly electric vehicle imports rose from 4,548 units in January to 8,076 in August, peaking at 8,875 in July.
The country also imported 20 diesel cars worth $1.5 million during the first eight months of the year.
