Vimeo registered as taxpayer in Uzbekistan

Vimeo has been registered as a taxpayer in Uzbekistan, Spot writes with reference to the State Tax Committee.

Vimeo is an American video hosting, sharing, and services platform headquartered in New York City. Vimeo operates on an ad-free basis, and instead derives revenue by providing subscription plans for video content producers and offering software as a service with video creation, editing, and broadcasting tools, enterprise software solutions, as well as the means for video professionals to connect with clients and other professionals

Previously, Yandex, Google, Facebook, Netflix, Samsung, Apple, Booking.com and others were registered as taxpayers. Moreover, after that Apple changed the prices in the App Store Uzbekistan.

Since the beginning of 2020, foreign legal entities engaged in the sale of services and goods in electronic form, the place of sale of which is Uzbekistan, are recognized as taxpayers in respect of such services provided to individuals.

The Tax Committee has set up a VAT office that allows foreign internet companies operating in Uzbekistan to register and start paying taxes.
