People propose reducing minimum driving age to 16
A new petition has been posted on the portal Mening Fikrim (My Opinion) which proposes reducing the minimum driving age to 16.
“In many foreign countries driving is allowed for individuals over the age of 16,” the petition says.
The initiator thinks that this “will increase the employment opportunity of high school and college students.”
“If we ensure their employment, the crime rate among teenagers will be reduced,” the author of the petition concluded.
Under the current legislation, a driving license may be obtained from the age of 18.
