Vice-President of the Academy of Sciences elected Adolat political party head 

Vice-President of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, Doctor of Historical Sciences Bakhrom Abdukhalimov has been elected Chairman of the Adolat Social-Democratic Party, the party’s website informed.

Abdukhalimov was born on February 27, 1959, in Tashkent. He graduated from the Tashkent State University (currently, National University of Uzbekistan) in 1981. Since 2017, he has been serving as Vice-President of the Academy of Sciences.

It was previously reported that Narimon Umarov, who headed the Adolat party since 2013, was appointed a Senator. At the eighth plenary session of the Upper House, on October 21, he was elected President of the Senate Committee on Judicial-Legal issues and Anti-Corruption.
