State Statistics Committee announces highest and lowest birth rates by regions
According to the State Statistics Committee, in the first 9 months of 2020, 614.7 thousand births were registered in the civil registry offices.
According to the committee, this is more by 24.9 thousand than in the same period last year.
The analysis of births by regions showed that the highest number of births was recorded in the Samarkand region (74.4 thousand people) and the lowest – in the Syrdarya region (15.6 thousand people).
The analysis of this indicator in relation to the population showed that the Surkhandarya region had the highest number of babies – 28 newborns per 1,000 population, while the Republic of Karakalpakstan had the lowest number – 20 babies per 1,000 people.
