New chief imam-khatib of Tashkent region appointed

Jasur Raupov, deputy chief imam of the city of Tashkent, has been appointed chief imam-khatib of the Tashkent region.

Today, November 30, the Tashkent region held the session of imam-khatibs.

According to the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, the meeting was attended by the chairman of the Board, Mufti Usmonkhon Alimov, chairman of the Committee on Religious Affairs Abdugafur Akhmedov, head of the religious office Rustam Jamilov, head of the mosques department Muhammadnazar Kayumov and prominent imam-khatibs.

Jasur Raupov, deputy imam-khatib of Tashkent, was appointed chief imam-khatib of the Tashkent region during the meeting.

For information, Jasur Raupov graduated from the Tashkent Islamic Institute named after Imam Bukhari and the Andijan State University. Since 1999, he has been working as an imam-khatib in several mosques in Tashkent. In particular, in 2017-2019, he worked as the imam-khatib of the “Islom ota” mosque. In December 2019, he was transferred to the position of imam-khatib of the “Nosirkhon” mosque in the Chilanzar district.

Since 2010, he has also served as deputy chief imam-khatib of Tashkent.

It should be recalled that Khayrullokh Turmatov, former chief imam-khatib of the Tashkent region, died on September 16.
