Officials of Andijan city Public Education Department misappropriate budget funds worth 33.8 billion soums 

It was noted that as a result of in-house inspections conducted by the Department of State Financial Control of the Finance Ministry in November 2020 on the targeted use of budget funds, it was revealed that the Andijan city Public Education Department had made suspicious expenditures on payment of salaries.

During the inspection for the period from November 1, 2018, to November 1, 2020, on the basis of relevant documents, it was revealed that 33.8 billion soums in cash were taken excessively from the bank by officials of the Public Education Department, the money was misappropriated without being deposited in the centralized accounting office.

It is noted that in 2018, 1 billion soums were embezzled, in 2019 – 12.6 billion soums, and in the past period of 2020 – 20.2 billion soums.

The documents collected as a result of the inspection were sent to the Prosecutor General’s Office for legal assessment.
