Traffic Safety Department head detained in Andijan while taking $300 in bribe

Two residents of the Asaka district promised that they would help a citizen acquire a land plot to build a modern bus station. The fraudsters were arrested on January 12 while taking $1,000 in bribe from the citizen, the Andijan region branch of the Department for Combating Economic Crimes reported.

The suspects stated that they received the money on the instructions of their alleged accomplice, A.I., a resident of the Kurgantepa district, the head of the Traffic Safety Department at the Andijan region Directorate of Motor Roads.

After that, employees of the SSS and the Department continued the operational event. A.I. was detained with material evidence at the time of receiving $300 of the demanded money from the above two citizens. 

Currently, a criminal case has been instituted against two residents of Asaka and A.I. under articles 168-2, 28, 211-1 of the Criminal Code. An investigation is underway.
