For the first time in its history, the Eurasian Stars International Music Festival, organized by the European Foundation for Support of Culture (EUFSC), has been held in Uzbekistan.

The event took place from January 25 to February 1 of this year in the capital city Tashkent. It included seven concerts in its programme of events and featured a multitude of renowned artists, the National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan, and the Chamber Orchestra “Soloists of Uzbekistan”.

This fourth edition of Eurasian Stars marked the Foundation’s first large-scale concert series in Uzbekistan, bringing together nine celebrated soloists and four leading conductors for a succession of performances celebrating traditional and contemporary classical music.

Soloists featured in the Eurasian Stars International Music Festival included the following renowned soloists (listed in order of appearance):

  • Prize-winner of the Henryk Wieniawski and Tchaikovsky Competitions, violinist Haik Kazazyan (Armenia);
  • Winner of the Classic Strings Competition, violinist Meruert Karmenova (Kazakhstan);
  • Bolshoi Theatre leading opera soloist, soprano Anna Aglatova (Russia);
  • People's Artist of Uzbekistan, tenor Ramiz Usmanov (Uzbekistan);
  • International Tchaikovsky Competition Gold Medal Winner, cellist
