Ombudsman comments on severe beating of a detainee by operatives in Akhangaran
According to the reports on the Internet, an inmate of Colony 48 in Akhangaran has been severely beaten by operatives.
The Commissioner for Human Rights of Oliy Majlis has visited the settlement and talked with the prisoner in order to clarify the situation, the press service of the Ombudsman’s Office said
“According to the results of the talks, we have drawn up a protocol, and collected documents were sent to the Prosecutor’s Office,” the report says.
In addition, it was decided to conduct a forensic examination with the assistance of appropriate experts.
“The case is under the control of the Ombudsman, and once the situation is clarified, we will provide additional information,” the press service concluded.
