Environmentally hazardous products to be certified on a compulsory basis

In accordance with a relevant resolution of the government, the import and export of environmentally hazardous products and waste to Uzbekistan will now be carried out on the basis of an environmental certificate, the Justice Ministry said.
The certificate is issued by an environmental certification body accredited at the State Committee on Ecology and Environmental Protection.
To obtain a certificate, one needs to apply an application through the customs information system “Single Window” or directly to the environmental certification body in the system of the Ecology Committee.
The environmental certification body analyzes the submitted documents within 1 working day and, if the submitted documents are complete, makes a decision on the certification of environmentally hazardous products and waste.
This procedure comes into force on May 1, 2021.
