Officials of Sanitary-Epidemiological Welfare departments in Tashkent region detained for receiving a bribe
Officials of Tashkent region’s Sanitary-Epidemiological Welfare department were detained for demanding a bribe in exchange for issuing a certificate on the absence of epizootic diseases, the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the Prosecutor General’s Office reported.
Reportedly, one of the officials, Kh.F., promised to issue a document on the absence of epizootic diseases on samples taken from a land plot located in the Urta Chirchik district, which belongs to a private enterprise. In return, he demanded $800 in bribe. The man was arrested with material evidence while receiving the money.
Also, the head of the infectious disease department R.Kh. was caught red-handed while receiving $400 in bribe from Kh.F.
On this fact, a criminal case was initiated against Kh.F and R.Kh. under Article 210 (bribery) of the Criminal Code.
An investigation is currently underway.
