Pseudo-employee of PGO arrested for demanding $51,000 in bribe
The fraudster agreed “to assist” in the allocation of 1.5 hectares of land in Tashkent region to a local resident.
Employees of the PGO Internal Security Department detained a swindler who deceived citizens, introducing himself as a law enforcement officer.
The man told citizens that he works in the Department under the Prosecutor General’s Office and has acquaintances. The perpetrator offered them his help for a monetary reward.
He agreed “to assist” in the allocation of 1.5 hectares of land in Tashkent region to one of the local residents.
For his “assistance”, he asked for $51.1 thousand. However, the scam failed.
The man was detained while receiving part of the agreed amount ($24 thousand) during an operational event.
Reportedly, the swindler was convicted before as well. The investigation continues.
