Facebook, Google, Apple paid more than 10 billion soums taxes in Uzbekistan last year
Facebook, Google, Apple and other Internet companies paid over 10 billion soums in taxes in Uzbekistan last year, the press service of the State Tax Committee reported.
In 2020, Facebook paid 5.9 billion soums, Google – 3.4 billion soums, Apple – 1.9 billion, Netflix – 190 million soums, Boooking.com – 181 million soums, Yandex – 136 million soums.
Since the beginning of 2021, foreign Internet companies have already paid 4.3 billion soums. As of April 1, there are already 26 such taxpayers. When paying for their services, citizens of Uzbekistan must take into account the VAT of 15%.
Since the beginning of 2020, foreign Internet companies operating in Uzbekistan are recognized as taxpayers. The Tax Committee has created a VAT office that allows these companies to register and start paying taxes.
