Uzbekistan to purchase 1,000 ambulances by year end
The presidential decree “On measures to implement the project “Adoption of urgent measures to counter coronavirus infection in Uzbekistan” with the participation of the Asian Development Bank and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank” has been adopted, the Ministry of Justice reports.
The decree approved the target indicators of the project “Taking urgent measures to counter coronavirus infection in Uzbekistan”.
Reportedly, 7 institutions of the National Reference Laboratory will be created that meet international standards.
It is expected that 17,554 employees of the central office, territorial and district (city) departments of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Service will improve their qualifications.
Reconstruction, overhaul and equipping of 475 institutions of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Service will also be carried out.
According to the document, the volume of tests will increase in relation to the current indicator for detecting COVID-19 infection, 500 thousand tests will be conducted.
To further strengthen the material-technical base of the ambulance service in the republic, by October 1, 2021, 1,000 units of special ambulances will be purchased.
