Uzbekistan reports abnormal heat beating maximum temperature records in years

A number of cities in Uzbekistan report abnormal heat.
According to weather forecasters, the maximum day temperature was recorded in:
- Nukus - 41.2 °, which is 1.7 ° higher than in 2015 (39.5 °);
- Urgench - 42.9 °, which is 3.5 ° higher than in 1933 (39.4 °);
- Bukhara - 43.0 °, which is 2.7 ° higher than in 1967 (40.3 °);
- Navoi - 41.0 °, which is 0.5 ° higher than in 1961 (40.5 °).
Earlier, weather forecasters reported that during the week, dry and very hot weather would continue to prevail throughout Uzbekistan.
The air temperature in most areas during the working week will be at night 22-25 degrees, during the daytime – 37-39 degrees, in the south and desert zones – 38-43 degrees.
“Temperatures may approach and in some areas even exceed the absolute maximum recorded in years,” the report said.
Also, on June 2, strong wind may be observed in some parts of the republic, the report says.
