SSS officers confiscate a large amount of drugs
Employees of the State Security Service in Syrdarya and Samarkand regions, in cooperation with representatives of the Syrdarya regional customs department, held an operational event.
According to the SSS press service, during the event, a Cobalt car traveling on the route “Surkhandarya – Samarkand” was stopped at the “Umakay” traffic post in Chirakchi district, Kashkadarya region.
During the search, it was found that a passenger of the car, resident of Sariosiya district, Surkhandarya region (born in 1987), was carrying 3,363 kg of opium. The narcotic substance was duly registered.
In another case, SSS officers stopped a Nexia 3 car driven by a resident of Denov district of Surkhandarya region (born in 1996) at the “Mineral Suvlar” traffic post, located in the Tashkent district of Tashkent region.
When the car inspected in the presence of attesting witnesses, it was found that 5 kg of opium was found in the passenger compartment and the drug was procedurally registered.
Also, officers of the SSS Department of Kashkadarya and Tashkent regions held a joint operative event in the Urta Chirchik district, during which two residents of Bekabad city (born in 1991 and 1990) were detained while selling 492 grams of hashish for 50 million soums.
In all three cases, the drugs were smuggled into the country from the Republic of Tajikistan.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against them under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code. An investigation is underway.
