Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall discuss expanding bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and US

On July 16, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, within the framework of the international conference held in Tashkent, hosted the United States delegation led by Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall, the Homeland Security Advisor for the US President.
The sides discussed the current state of bilateral relations and issues of international politics.
At the meeting, Mirziyoyev noted with satisfaction the dynamic development of the Uzbek-American relations of strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation in recent years. Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall conveyed to the President of Uzbekistan sincere greetings and best wishes from US President Joe Biden.
It was emphasized that the US administration highly appreciates the initiatives of the head of Uzbekistan to strengthen the connectivity of Central and South Asia.
In addition, the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of our country, the ongoing reforms to establish a new Uzbekistan, as well as efforts to strengthen confidence, good-neighborliness and partnership in the Central Asian region were firmly supported.
The parties discussed issues of continuing a constructive political dialogue, as well as practical aspects of expanding bilateral cooperation, including combating the spread of the pandemic and vaccination of the population, promoting joint investment projects with the participation of leading American companies and banks.
